In Memory of Patience Worth
A collaboration with Faith Patrick, Jamie Dronyk and Peter Lebel at 42 Adelaide [upper] studio London, ON.
In Memory of Patience Worth explores meaning making through the placement and convergence of personal objects in the gallery setting. Objects rich in memory and meaning are brought together and thus emptied of previous associations. In bringing personal objects into a new environment that is shared with other people’s things, the objects become neutral and re-enter the realm of potentiality generating new significances, new associations, and new histories.
The process or act of placing the objects within the grid is one of intuition, feeling, repetition, association, even narrative.
